Fertilizer values of composts as affected by plant materials and composting duration on maize (Zea mays) performance

چکیده

Chemical properties and nutrient release pattern from compost are influenced by composted plant materials (CPM) duration of composting (DC). The following materials; guinea grass (GGC), tridax weed (TWC), siam (SWC) maize stover (MSC) were with cow dung. Pot field experiments carried out to evaluate the effect these CPM on growth yield performance maize, soil after harvest. pot trial was a 4 × 5 factorial experiment laid in completely randomized design (CRD) three replicates while 3 arranged complete block (RCBD), replicated times. Data collected initial harvest, growth, dry matter (DMY), uptake subjected analysis variance means separated using Duncan Multiple Range Test. Results showed that MSC had highest N content GGC K. Phosphorus (P) similar for all CPMs. higher (p ≤ 0.05) GGC, TWC 3, months DC. DMY P-uptake increased increasing On trial, plants height received gave which significantly than SWC. N-uptake treated P K uptake. Grain (1.80 t ha–1) SWC Control but (1.37 (1.18 ha–1). Compost application at 20 ha–1 cob weight, compared control. Application improved final available DC rate different CPM. Therefore, have great potentials influencing quality should be considered formulating fertilizer organic farming.

Maize (Zea mays L.).

Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation is an effective method for introducing genes into maize. In this chapter, we describe a detailed protocol for genetic transformation of the maize genotype Hi II. Our starting plant material is immature embryos cocultivated with an Agrobacterium strain carrying a standard binary vector. In addition to step-by-step laboratory transformation proced...

effect of different fertilizer resources on yield and yield components of grain maize (zea mays l.) affected by tillage managements

introduction due to the development of sustainable agriculture and the reduction of utilizing chemical fertilizers, it is essential to use organic fertilizer. organic matter is vital to soil fertility and its productivity. to maintain the level of fertility and the strength of soil, organic matter levels should be maintained at an appropriate level. unfortunately, the level of organic matter in...

Epistasis in Maize (zea Mays

ISHER (1918) provided a framework for the characterization of genotypic variance whereby he partitioned it into three components: ( 1 ) a portion associated with the average effects of genes, (2) a portion associated with dominance effects (allelic interactions) of genes, and (3) a portion associated with epistatic effects (nonallelic interactions) of genes. A logical method for the further sub...

Growth and Yield of Maize (zea Mays L.) as Affected by Row Spacing and Weed Competition Durations

A field experiment was conducted for two consecutive years (2003 and 2004) to study the effect of row spacing (75, 65 and 55cm) and different weed competition durations (0, 15,30,45,60 days after emergence and throughout the growth period) on weeds density and biomass and growth and yield of maize. Reducing row spacing significantly suppressed the weed density and biomass. The maximum reduction...
